Curatorial Statement

That tunnel of concentric rings pulling you toward a vanishing point is doing something spatially that feels almost impossible for something printed flat on fabric. Rob made this as a cyanotype, a photographic process that uses UV light and iron salts to expose an image directly onto fabric or paper, giving you that deep Prussian blue and a softness you don't get from ink. The creases in the cloth read like Renaissance drapery — all weight and shadow — which makes the whole thing feel simultaneously archival and alive. I went to college with Rob, we lived in the same dorm for. couple of years, and it's genuinely exciting to watch where his practice has gone. The depth of this piece has to be something else in person.
